Somalia’s Covid-19 cases drop as 22 new infections recorded

Somalia has announced 22 new Covid-19 cases, amid drop in infections in the country, especially in the capital, Mogadishu, which was previously the epicentre of the novel Coronavirus in the Horn of Africa nation.


Somalia’s Minister of Health and Social Care Fowziya Abikar Nur, announced that 14 of the new cases were recorded in the breakaway region of Somaliland, five in Banadir region (Mogadishu and its environs) and one each in South West, Jubbaland and Hirshaballe states.


The minister also announced the death of one of the Covid-19 patients and the recoveries of 18 others.


This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in the country to 1,711 with 253 recoveries and 67 deaths. Read more...
